Why Tongue Cleaning Matters
While brushing and flossing are essential for oral health, the tongue is often overlooked - despite clinical research demonstrating that 80-90% of bad breath originate from the tongue's surface, which harbours a biofilm of food debris, dead cells, and bacteria, especially towards the back of the tongue where regular brushing can't reach.
Unlike using a toothbrush, which may just smear bacteria around, the TePe GOOD Tongue Cleaner is specially designed to gently and thoroughly clean the tongue without causing discomfort - making it an easy but important daily habit.
How to Use
The cleaning ridges should be placed as far back on the surface of the tongue as possible. Scrape the tongue surface from back forwards. If you have not been routinely cleaning your tongue, it may take a few passes of the tongue cleaner to remove the layers of bacteria. Be sure not to press too hard and if your tongue becomes tender, be sure to let it recover and then start your tongue cleaning again. If you are not used to cleaning your tongue start at the tip and gradually work your way back. You may find it easier to clean your tongue at a different time to toothbrushing, especially in the morning and/or if you have a gag reflex.
